An Analysis of â€Å"Nonviolent Resistance† The â€Å"Nonviolent Resistance† written by Martin Luther King Jr. shows the three ways people use to deal with oppression. The first one is acquiescence, which merely increases the oppressor’s contempt. The second way is violence, which merely creates new and more problems. And the third way is nonviolent resistance, which is the way to guide Negro to harmonic race relations. Because nonviolent resistance reconciles the acquiescence and violence, it makes Negro remain in South and struggle for both rights and equality, it helps Negro to achieve the goal of integration, it mitigates the fears of the white and it reaches people more than the law. Millennials In The Workplace The only people who need to be motivated are those who cannot see a future. Simon Sinek on â€Å"Millennials in the Workplace† was one of the most depressing and it the same time thought provoking talks I have ever listened to in a long time. Simon O. Sinek is a British/American author, motivational speaker and marketing consultant, he is the author of three books, and has his own business â€Å"Sinek Partners.† In Sinek’s interview, he introduces four reasons why he believes so many millennials are unhappy at work: Parenting, technology, impatience and environment. Sinek says millennials are tough to manage and that they want what every generation before them wanted but the only difference is that millennials are†¦show more content†¦Which bring us to Sinek’s other point ‘impatience’ and how millennials expect instant gratification and instant praise from doing minimal work. Millennials are faced with a challenge of â€Å"instant gratification†, Sinek suggests that millennials can have whatever they want whenever they want. Personally, I believe he is missing a key point; most young people have been impatient since the beginning of time. â€Å"Worst case scenario is we’re seeing an increase in suicide rates. The best case scenario is you have an entire population growing up and going through life and just never really finding joy, they’ll never really find deep, deep fulfillment in work or in life.† In my view, the fact that most young people have impatience is a good thing; they will have the drive to help change the world. I happen to believe there is far too much patience in the workplace and school right now. We keep teaching young adults the same thing repeatedly instead of speeding up the process and teaching them to move forward and wanting to complete tasks faster is a good thing. I was impatient in my current job and kept pushing for what I wanted and was promoted to a management position in less than a year of working for the company, bypassing that have worked there for year who were patiently waiting for an opportunity to fall into their laps. The world is changing now and we need to change with it.
